[News] Kelis’ "Fleshtone" Only Sells 7,833 Copies In The US

Despite scoring a number one on the Billboard Dance Chart with ‘Acapella’, Kelis’ ‘FleshTone’ has debuted on the Billboard 200 chart with one of the year’s worst opening tally’s. This marks the lowest sales of the eclectic singer’s career; a career which was never particularly characterized by high sales to begin with.

It’s all rather unfortunate for Ms. Rogers, as this the worst possible start she could have with her new label (will.i.am/Interscope), and put simply, the album isn’t actually that bad. What’s more, the often cited ‘no promotion’ excuse won’t suffice, as Kelis made major appearances on many a show, and worked the International circuit as well (to little success).
